In its BS6 form, the 2020 Nissan Kicks continues to compete against the likes of Kia Seltos, 2020 Hyundai Creta, MG Hector and Mahindra Scorpio.

In an effort to mount a fresh challenge to the hottest-selling Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta or MG Hector, Nissan India on Monday has announced the introduction of the 2020 Kicks at an ex-showroom price starting from Rs 9.50 Lakh.

The 2020 Nissan Kicks sees a batch of changes to the mechanical and feature packages. Nissan has upgraded the 1.5-litre H4K naturally aspirated petrol engine to the BS6 emission norms while retaining its power and torque output of 106 PS and 142 Nm. It carries forward a 5-speed manual gearbox as the transmission option. Notably, the 1.5-litre K9K dCi turbocharged diesel engine making 110 PS/ 240 Nm is no longer on duty on the 2020 Nissan Kicks. As a perfect replacement, there is an all-new 1.5-litre HR13 turbocharged petrol engine added to the Kicks’s range.

The newly-developed turbo petrol mill can develop 156 PS of max power and 254 Nm of peak torque, making the best-in-segment output figures for any petrol or diesel engine option. Needless to say, the engine conforms to the stringent BS6 emission standards.

Excitingly enough, the 2020 Nissan Kicks also offers both a 6-speed MT and an X-tronic CVT gearbox option, which can only be had with the turbocharged petrol motor. Additionally, unlike the outgoing model, the all-new BS6 Kicks also comes with unique features like remote engine start and idle start-stop.

As for its profile, the 2020 Nissan Kicks looks identical to its predecessor. The exterior design of the SUV receives no changes, carrying on the notable features like automatic headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, roof rails, door-mounted ORVMs & indicators, alloy wheels and more. On the inside, the new Nissan Kicks grabs a dual-tone black-brown interior theme, leather-wrapped dashboard along with some bells and whistles like auto AC, touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering, engine start push button and so on.
