The engine on showcase at the Expo was stated to offer 156 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque. There was also a Duster on display alongside it, with that engine under the hood. There would be two transmission options available for the car, a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
The 2020 Renault Duster BSVI on display at the Auto Expo 2020 featured minimal changes to interior and exterior. The new 1.3-litre engine will also do duty on a few upcoming Nissan and Mercedes cars
The current Renault Duster is offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated inline-4 petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-4 diesel engine. The former is capable of producing 106 PS and 142 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. As for the diesel engine, it is offered in two states of tune – the less powerful version offers 85 PS and 200 Nm, and the more powerful version generates 110 PS and 245 Nm.
In similar news, Renault India will also be offering these new turbocharged petrol mills in other models as well. The Triber is expected to be the second car to get the new 1.3 engine, but detuned for less power and higher fuel economy. This engine will also power the new sub-4-metre SUV, the HBC, which is currently under development. As for the 2020 Duster, prices are expected to begin from Rs. 13 lakh mark.
