Renault Duster gets ready for the 2020 launch, spied with projector headlights and LED DRLs. See more details here.

The current Renault Duster in the Indian market will continue to be available for some more time to come. It has been just recently learned that it will not be long until Renault releases another mid-cycle facelift of the vehicles. The facelift is expected to arrive in 2020, and several images of the facelifted Duster on road test has been shared on IndianAutoBlogs.

On the updated version, Renault has reworked the body of the Duster to comply with the upcoming safety regulations specifying new standard protection for pedestrians. Upon the front face, the bonnet is raised to a higher position in order to extend the space between the hood and the engine. If being crashed, the car will stand a lower chance of hurting the pedestrians with its metal panel. Apart from that, it will also significantly require an intense rework on the fascia design. In line with the new high set bonnet, a new bumper and obviously a revamped grille, overhauling the overall design of the Duster.

Renault Duster is given new bodywork, along with a host of features

Besides the revised bodywork, there is also a chunk of updates brought forward in the new Renault Duster. It is now added with a new projector headlight, and perchance, a new electric sunroof for the top-of-the-line vehicles. Apart from that, new alloy wheels and roof rails are also expected. What’s more, the customers will be offered with more car paint options.

Interior wise, the Duster is likely to come with an upgraded infotainment system. The interior of the Duster is also promised to be built with higher material quality. Some new features might make its way to the facelifted Duster include rear parking sensors, passenger seatbelt reminder and a high-speed alert, which are added to fit the approaching safety norms.

Previously featured on the old Duster, the K9K 1.5-litre oil-burner and the H4K 1.5-litre petrol motor will get some necessary changes to meet the upcoming BSVI emission norms. The former is good for 110PS while the latter could put out 106 PS. Another diesel option with 85PS on deck will be introduced later.

6-speed manual and a 6-speed automated manual transmission are retained on the 1.5-litre diesel engine while the 1.5-litre petrol motor will have its power transferred to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT.

Before giving the first-gen Duster another facelift, Renault will equip it with rear parking sensors, a passenger seatbelt reminder and a high-speed warning for adherence to the new safety regulations, by July this year.
