2020 Skoda Octavia iV RS will Reveal Globally On March 3

Czech carmaker Skoda will globally unveil an all-new, hybrid version of the Octavia RS at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show named as Octavia iV RS. The brand new sedan will be on Skoda’s display from 3rd to 15th March 2020.

Skoda Octavia iV RS will be a performance-oriented car, but will come equipped with a PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle) motor. The carmaker has some impressive eco-friendly strategies for the enhancement of the future. The all-new Skoda Octavia iV RS will underpinned by the same platform as Volkswagen Golf GTE and upcoming Seat Leon Cupra.

The upcoming Skoda sedan will get propelled by a 1.4-litre, TSI petrol mill. The petrol engine will be assisted by an electric motor, and the combination will generate a total power and torque output of 242bhp and 400 Nm respectively. The carmaker will stiffen up the suspension of the upcoming iV RS to differentiate it from the normal Octavia and highlight its sporty character. The new iV RS can sprint from 0-100 in just 7 seconds. The performance-sedan comes fitted with a 13 kWh battery pack, which can offer 55 km of range.

The new Skoda Octavia iV RS can sprint from 0-100 in just 7 seconds

In similar news, Skoda launched the Octavia RS 245 in India this month, and the bookings for the car have opened. The sedan was priced at Rs 36 lakh (ex-showroom). The production of the new sedan is limited to 200 units. Under the hood, it gets a 2.0-litre, turbocharged TSI petrol mill, which develops 245bhp of power and 370 Nm of twisting force. The engine comes coupled to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. It can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 6.6 seconds and can achieve an electronically limited speed of 250 kmph. Skoda will also be launching the new Rapid Matte in India by the second half of this year. The sedan was recently showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. The upcoming Skoda sedan will be retailed alongside the Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo in India.
