Toyota has recently introduced the limited edition Innova TRD Sportivo model in Indonesia. The special version of the MPV is also expected to be introduced in India in the coming months.

To celebrate Indonesia’s 75th Independence day, PT Toyota-Astra, which is Toyota’s Indonesian wing, has introduced the Kijang Innova TRD Sportivo Limited Edition model. The new ‘TRD Sportivo’ model does not feature any performance part from Toyota Racing Development (TRD) as it only features a few cosmetic upgrades. The new Toyota Kijang Innova TRD Sportivo limited edition employs a revised bumper upfront with a faux lip-spoiler and faux air vents on both the sides along with a few chrome accents on the front grille. The bespoke Toyota Innova now features 17-inch blacked-out alloy wheels with TRD side skirts.

The rear fascia of the car also features a new sporty looking bumper. One can also find ‘TRD Sportivo’ badging on the boot lid and wheel arch on either side of the car to distinguish it from the regular Toyota Innova. These are the only changes made by Toyota outside the new limited edition model. Inside, the cabin of the new Innova TRD Sportivo limited edition features an integrated Air Purifier, which purifies the air particles up to PM 2.5. This purifier can work is manual as well as automatic mode. In manual mode, the passengers can select when to start the system, and in the automatic mode, the system will turn on itself as soon as it detects the poor quality of air inside the cabin of the car. In Indonesia, the 2020 Toyota Innova is offered with two different powertrain options.

The first one is a 2.0-litre petrol motor, which puts out 138 PS of peak power 190 Nm of peak torque. The second engine option is a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel unit that produces power and torque outputs of 148 PS and 360 Nm. The new limited edition Innova TRD Sportivo is based only based on the diesel model of the MPV, not the gasoline trim. Toyota Innova is one of the most popular MPVs in India. And because of its immense popularity, the automaker could introduce the Innova TRD Sportivo Edition in India before it launches a facelift of the hot-seller
