2021 Hyundai Tucson Spied, Gets Futuristic Design For LED DRLs

Hyundai Tucson facelift has been recently launched in the country. However, the South-Korean carmaker is now developing the next-gen model of the premium crossover. The test mules of the same have been recently spotted in UAE in the final production form. The test mules in the spy pictures are wrapped in heavy camouflage, but they still reveal a lot of details of the 2021 Tucson’s design. On the front, it now gets a distinctive radiator grille, which follows the design theme of the conventional cascading grille. However, this time around, the flanks of the grille also double up as the parts of LED DRLs. This particular design of the front grille looks radical in the pictures, but we are sure that it will have polarizing opinions from the masses.

The headlamps are mounted on the lower portion of the bumper as is the case with the most cars these days. In comparison to the outgoing model, the bonnet of the test mule looks high-set and flat, while the windshield looks more upright. The side profile of the next-gen Tucson is redesigned as well. It sports the flush-fit roof rails and rides on diamond-cut alloy wheels, which together give the car a contemporary look.

The styling of the rear facet of the 2021 Tucson test mules is also revamped to bring in the harmony with the front and side profiles. That being said, it gets sharp claw-shaped vertical LED elements for the tail lamps. A light bar can also be seen on the boot lid. It connects the tail lamp units fixed on both the ends. The rear view of the test mules also showcases the sloping roofline, which extends to the spoiler. With all these design elements in place, the 2021 Tucson is expected to get a revolutionary design.

Talking of the outgoing Tucson, it starts at Rs. 22.30 lakh, and it rivals against the likes of Jeep Compass, VW T-Roc, and Skoda Karoq. It is offered with 2 engine options – 152 PS 2.0L petrol and 185 PS 2.0L diesel. Both of these engine options are offered with a 6-speed MT as standard, while the automatic variants get a 6-speed AT with the petrol motor and an 8-speed AT with the oil burner.
