2021 Kia Sorento Officially Unveiled, Could Launch in India to Rival Honda CR-V

Kia has unveiled the 2021 Sorento digitally and will be showcased to the masses at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March.

Kia is a newcomer to the Indian market, however, the manufacturer is one of the largest car makers in the markets of Korea, Europe, and North America. The manufacturer has revealed the updated Sorento for these markets and it will be showcased at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland in the month of March. The showcase will be followed by the car’s launch sometime after the Geneva Motor Show, while local launch is uncertain at the moment. That said, the new model could become a worthy rival of the Honda CR-V and VW Tiguan AllSpace in India.

2021 Kia Sorento Official Unveiled, Might Come To India

The 2021 Kia Sorento will showcased to the masses at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March.

Talking of the changes Sorento gets with the updates, the car has received thoroughly refreshed exterior and interior. The overall design is now in line with the bigger Telluride. The LED headlamps have become sleeker to merge with big-wide Kia signature Tiger Nose grille. The new-revised bumper is also sleeker and the foglamps have now moved inwards on the air-dam, while there are air-vents on the side now to break the visual bulk. On the side, the Sorento has proper family-SUV credentials with its big dimensions a big glass area for all 3-rows. The wind mirrors are no mounted on doors rather than the window line. The windows lines are now finished in chrome and the C-pillar also gets a chrome trim as well. The tail lamps are now vertically stacked and the Sorento badging is more like that of the Seltos’.

2021 Kia Sorento Official Unveiled, Might Come To India

The 2020 Kia Sorento will get a plethora of features to keep occupants enthralled.

The interior of the car is revamped to fall in line with that of the modern Kia’s. The air vents are now vertically stacked. The 12.3-inch infotainment screen is in the same trim as the instrument console. The use of tan leather and darker material help the cabin to elevate its ambience. The use of leather is in excess now, so much so, the armrests, seats, door trims, dashboard, and the steering wheel are all wrapped in tan leather.

The 2020 Sorento will come with 3 different engine options. A 1.6L turbo petrol, a 2.5L naturally-aspirated petrol, and 2.2L diesel will be offered with the 2021 Kia Sorento. It well also the get the option of new 'Smartstream'turbo elctrified powertains.Transmission duties are expected to be performed by an 8-speed DCT to propel the wheels. The car is also expected to be offered with 2WD and 4WD layout.
