2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC Goes On Sale In India At Rs 57.40 Lakh

The updated Mercedes-Benz GLC will rival the likes of BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and upcoming Audi Q5 facelift in India.

The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC has been launched in India with a host of new features. The 2021 GLC is now on sale at Rs 57.40 lakh for the entry-level petrol GLC 200 and at Rs 63.15 lakh for the diesel GLC 220d 4Matic variant (all prices, ex-showroom). The new Mercedes-Benz GLC is the brand’s latest car to feature Mercedes Me Connect which is an e-SIM connected car tech offered on Mercedes-Benz cars. Do note that the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC is an independent product out of 15 models that the German company has confirmed for India in 2021.

Mercedes-Benz GLC exterior front three quarters

Based on the revised model launched in India last year, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC witnesses no major changes in terms of look. However, there are two new exterior paint options added to the range including High Tech Silver and Brilliant Blue. On the inside, the updated GLC gets segment-first massage function for the front seats as standard on the vehicle.

There’s also a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that comes to replace the outgoing analogue dials unit. This system boasts of three display styles – Classic, Progressive and Sporty. Other highlighting features for the new GLC include 360-degree parking camera, voice commands and remote start/stop.

On the mechanical front, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC carries forward the same engines from the 2020 model. There’s a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol mill that churns out 197 HP of power and a 2.0-litre diesel engine developing 194 HP of power. Both the mills come with a standard 9-speed automatic transmission. Only the diesel-powered GLC is available with a four-wheel-drive system.

In terms of price, the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC commands a premium of Rs 1.56 lakh and Rs 2.02 lakh over the petrol and diesel versions of the 2020 GLC models. The new Mercedes-Benz GLC rivals the models like BMW X3, Volvo XC60 and the upcoming Audi Q5 facelift in India.
