According to the latest reveals, the Mercedes-Benz S Class will come with first-ever airbags for the second row, making it the first car in the world to offer this feature to offer safety to rear occupants from frontal impact.
Taking into account the fact that there might be children seating on the rear seat, the airbag application will be adjusted to ensure the safety for the child occupants. Along with the rear airbags, the passenger seats of the Mercedes S Class is also available with other features like belt bags and inflatable safety belt. These features will work together to maximise the safety of the rear passengers.
Besides these features, the Pre-Safe Impulse Side system is also another highlight of the new Mercedes-Benz S Class. By using the radar, the car can detect the imminent side impact. When a side impact is detected, the system will be activated. To reduce the danger, the occupants will be pushed toward the centre of the vehicle by inflating the side air cushion. Moreover, the ride height will be increased, hence creating a stiffer structure to reduce the impact of the crash.
