2021 Volvo S60 Launched In India, Priced at Rs 45.90 lakh 

Yesterday, Volvo launched the 2021 Volvo S60 at the starting price of Rs 45.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Booking for the Volvo S60 has kicked off earlier and the deliveries will be commenced from March 2021. Volvo is offering special benefits for the early owners of the Volvo S60. These buyers will receive the complimentary membership to the exclusive 'Tre Kronor Experience' program.

Exteriorly, the Volvo S60 gets the signature design of a typical Volvo car. It is the signature Thor-hammer LED headlights, C-shaped LED taillight, three-box sedan silhouette, and strong lines on the bonnet.

The interior of the S60 continues to carrying the signature design of other Volvo vehicles. It features the same 9-inch vertically mounted Sensus touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support. The use of physical buttons is also minimized. Instead, the drivers will mostly use the screen for operating these functions. The interior of the Volvo S60 is equipped with premium comfort features like four-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charger, panoramic sunroof, Harmon Kardon audio system, and reverse parking camera.

Under the hood, Volvo S60 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that is capable of making 187 BHP and 300 Nm. There is only one gearbox option which is the 8-speed automatic transmission. No diesel engine is available, which is an odd choice since most of its rivals are offered with diesel option. It should be noted that this powertrain is all about providing a comfort and pleasure. If you are looking for a nimble and sporty vehicle, this luxury sedan is probably not the right fit.

2021 Volvo S60 is based on the Volvo Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) architecture. This car offers a distinguished safety level. At the Euro NCAP, the S60 has received a five-star safety rating. According to Volvo, the S60 is one of the safest cars on the road. It should be noted that the vehicle shares many safety and entertainment features with the range-topping 90 Series Volvo cars and XC60. As far as the safety features are concerned, the Volvo S60 is equipped with adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, driver alert system, run-off road mitigation, oncoming lane mitigation, and steering assistance systems.

In India, the Volvo S60 is offered in one single variant, T4 Inscription. Notably, the price mentioned earlier is only applicable for a limited number of customers. Volvo S60 will take on the likes of Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Mercedes Benz C Class.
