The Kia Sonet sold in Indonesia is a bit longer than the sub-4 metre model sold in India. Thus, it is likely to get an extra row of seats soon, as the brand has released a new teaser of the SUV.

Kia Motors Indonesia released a teaser image for the upcoming 7-seat version of the Sonet sub-compact SUV, with the vehicle to be unveiled on April 8, 2021. The new 7-seater SUV will be based on the Indonesian version of the Sonet which is longer than the model sold in India. It is longer with a length of 4,120 mm compared to the sub-4 metre length of the Sonet in India, and the former could squeeze in the third row of seats, though it will considerably compromise the boot space. Powering the Indonesian 7-seater Sonet will be a 1.5-litre petrol engine which will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT auto. The launch of the new variant of the Sonet will take place by the end of 2021 in Indonesia, with the vehicle being produced in Kia’s Indian facility in Andhra Pradesh.
