Hyundai has finally taken the wraps off the 2021 Elantra. Here's a video of the car that shows its interior and exterior.

While we're less than four months into 2020, Hyundai Motor India Ltd has launched a slew of products in the Indian market in this short period of time. Internationally, the South Korean carmaker has unveiled the 7th-gen Elantra. It will compete with the likes of Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and Honda Civic across the globe. While the carmaker is yet to confirm its plans of bringing the new car to our shores, it's likely to make it to our shores by mid-2021.

The seventh generation Hyundai Elantra has already been provided to the international media outlets to give them a good idea of the new model. A video uploaded by one such media outlet shows us how the car looks and feels like inside and out. The new Elantra has a polarizing design. According to Hyundai, the 7th-gen Elantra is not based on the Sensuous Sportiness design theme seen on the recently launched Hyundai cars in India.

Instead, it follows a new design theme called 'Parametric Dynamics'. The convergence of three different lines to generate polyhedral geometrical depictions is the idea behind this new design theme. Thus, the Elantra now features sharp lines all around. On the front, it gets a big-wide cascading grille, which is flanked by upswept headlamps on both sides. Lower down the front bumper it gets distinctively designed foglamp housings that merges into each other via a grey element. Walking over to its sides, the Elantra reveals its dynamic silhouette. The roofline tapers down all the way to the trunk, thereby giving it a four-door couple like appearance. On the rear, it features connected tail lamps that are all-LED units.

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra is underpinned by the third-generation K3 platform. It is now longer than the outgoing car by 55 mm. Moreover, it is also wider and lower than before by a fair margin. With the increase in overall length, Elantra even boasts a longer wheelbase now. Thus, it is even more spacious on the inside. The interior of the new sedan is quite practical with well laid out controls and a minimalistic design theme. Hyundai is expected to start the deliveries of the 7th-gen Elantra in the international markets by the second half of this year.
