Honda has started with the production of new-gen City, which is all set to be launched in next month. However, Honda will not introduce the sportier Turbo RS variant in India that is sold in Thailand.

Honda City is one of the best-selling sedans in the country. It is also the volume generator for the Japanese manufacturer. It is in its fourth-generation right now, which has been on sale since 2015 and is now due for an update. On the same note, Honda has recently unveiled the new-gen City in the country, and it will go on sale by mid-July. The carmaker has already started with the production of the new City, and the dealer dispatch will begin anytime soon. Initially, the new-gen Honda City was scheduled to be unveiled in March, earlier this year. However, due to the pathogen outbreak, the event was called off.

The new-gen City is already on sale in Thailand. Honda offers the City in a sportier ‘Turbo RS’ trim level there. This variant comes equipped with a 1.0L 3-pot turbocharged petrol motor, which is capable of putting out 122 PS of peak power. Sadly, Honda has confirmed that Indian iteration of the new-gen City will not be offered in this state of tune. It will be offered with a 121 PS 1.5L petrol and 100 PS 1.5L diesel engines, instead. The transmission options will be limited to a 6-speed MT and a CVT only. The oil burner will miss out on the latter.
