All-New Honda Civic Prices Could Be Same for Petrol and Diesel Variants

Being the tenth generation, the upcoming Honda Civic is set to be kicked off on March 7th. The sedan of Honda was unveiled previously at the 2018 Auto Expo. At the time launching, both petrol and diesel variants are likely to position at the same price tag.

Back to the previous gen of Civic, its eight-sibling has been discontinued in Indian market largely due to the lack of diesel power plant. This time, Honda will come back with the tenth-generation Civic which promises to bring on both of petrol and diesel engine variants.

In terms of the powertrain, the upcoming Civic sedan will come with four-cylinder unit engine and a 1.8-litre i-VTEC SOHC petrol version. In which, the former can produce 120 PS and 300 Nm and the latter can generate 141 PS and 174 Nm of torque. The latter has a claim of fuel efficiency of 26.8 kmpl which is even more frugal than the City diesel variants. Notably, the diesel unit offers only the six-speed MT option since the nine-speed automatic transmission is mated to the same engine in the CR-V.

Concerning the features, it is packed with a handy of segment-first equipment such as 

• Agile Handling Assist

• Lane Watch

• Electronic Parking Brake 

• Brake Hold 

The lower trims will have several changes including the 16-inch alloy wheels and projector headlamps.

Regarding the price, the petrol CVT and diesel MT are expected to be priced in the same price bracket starting around Rs. 19 lakh (ex-showroom). The Civic is not likely to get an expansive price range as the City.
