The Honda Jazz 2020 is India-bound. It will make its global premiere at Tokyo Motor Show, let’s sum up all the clues about the new model

The new Jazz will make its global debut by the end of 2019. The Indian launch will follow in 2020. But before all of these happen, the new Jazz will head for the Tokyo Motor Show held in October this year to make its world debut. Before we lay our eyes on the all-new Jazz for the first time, let’s recap what we have already known about the updates that will be carried by this popular hatchback. Dimensionally, Honda Jazz will be larger. In length, the Jazz will grow by 35mm, making it 3,990mm. The width will also increase, adding more shoulder room for the passenger seats. Also, as suggested by the spy shots, the new Honda Jazz might look significantly larger from the rear. We expect a bigger boot, too.\

In terms of features, Honda Jazz will be loaded with a slew of new features, both interior and exterior. On the front end, the new Jazz gets LED DRL-integrated projector headlamps. Interiorly, the Jazz will be available with a larger touchscreen infotainment system supported by both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Changes are also spotted on the instrument cluster and steering wheel. The interior will be comprehensively refreshed with a new colour scheme and upholstery. Honda Jazz has been long known for its supercomfortable interior, so it will not let you down with the new updates.

We could not tell for certain which powertrains will be brought to the India-spec Jazz. However, it is expected that Honda will make way for the dual-motor hybrid setting to launch in India market. Besides, the current i-VTEC and i-DTEC will also be carried forward. These two engines might be joined by a new 1.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo motor.

At the time of its launch, Honda Jazz will have to compete with likes of the Tata Altroz and the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. In some market, the new Jazz might be known as the Fit. Apart from the Jazz, Honda also plans to launch five vehicles by 2020, including the new Honda City, BR-V and more.
