An expert digital illustrator has created a rendering of the 3-door version of the 2020 Hyundai i20 (Hyundai i20 Coupe)

Last month, Korean carmaker Hyundai unveiled the new-gen i20 globally through a set of images of the exterior and interior. Now, IAB's expert illustrator Soheb Kalania has created a rendering of 2020 3-door i20 (Hyundai i20 Coupe). Every generation of the Hyundai i20 has had a 3-door version, which, of course, is not meant for Indian market. The carmaker has not made any official announcement regarding the introduction of the 3-door version of the third-gen i20 as the demand for the three-door cars is falling globally but the below rendering surely gives us an idea of how sporty the car would like in a 3-door format.

It may be noted that cars like Kia Rio, Opel Corsa, Suzuki Swift, Peugeot 208, Seat Ibiza and VW Polo are no longer available in their three-door avatars. Even the next-gen Hyundai i20 might not get a 3-door version but it can't be denied that the rendered vehicle looks sportier as compared to the 5-door version. Upfront, the illustrator has added a new bumper and tweaked grille along with a piano black finish to the lip spoiler.

The European-spec new-gen Hyundai i20 is 4,040 mm long, 1,750 mm wide, 1,450 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. Moreover, the premium hatchback will also offer 351-litres of luggage space. The Euro-spec i20 will derive power from 4 different engine options namely- 1.2 MPi, 1.0 T-GDI Low-Output, 1.0 T-GDI Low-Output and 1.0 T-GDI High-Output 48V.

The European-spec new-gen i20 will employ LED headlamps, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED taillights connected through a light strip. Inside, the premium hatchback will feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting and Bose sound system, which comprises 8 speakers and a subwoofer. The new-gen Hyundai i20 is scheduled to enter the European markets by the second half of this year, and one can expect the hatchback to hit the Indian shores by June 2020.
