All-new India-bound Toyota Corolla to make its global debut next month

The 2019 Toyota Corolla is set to reveal at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show on this November 16. It is likely to enter the Indian car space sooner or later.

According to a famous Chinese auto media report, the Sina Auto that the new generation of the celebrated Toyota Corolla will make its first appearance at the 2018 Guangzhou Motor Show this November. Both the standard and the plug-in hybrid versions of the Corolla are confirmed to debut by Toyota.

As far as we concern, the 2019 Toyota Corolla sedan will be built on the latest Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) GA-C platform like the Corolla hatchback and the Corolla Sport hatchback showcased earlier this year. This model is said to exceed customer expectation with superior handling, the agile feeling and the versatile functions.

Regarding the interior, the all-new sedan will take design cues from its sibling- the Corolla hatchback along with a bunch of upgrades inside. It is possible to come with a three-spoke steering wheel equipped with a modern digital display, larger touchscreen infotainment system, phone connectivity options and an inbuilt navigation system.

Under the bonnet, the upcoming Toyota Corolla is expected to offer a 1.8-litre and 2.0-litre petrol hybrid powertrain options paired with manual and CVT gearboxes on offer. We all know the Corolla name has been “long in the tooth”, but it is the most successful model of Toyota ever since 1996 with total global sales of more than 46 million units. It achieved the landmark of 50 years of the world's bestselling cars.

Feature-wise, the updated generation of Corolla will probably appear with Toyota Safety 2.0, automatic emergency braking system with even pedestrian detection, smart cruise control, lane-departure alerting, lane-keeping assist, etc.

Thanks to the collaboration between Toyota and Maruti, the 2019 Toyota Corolla sedan will be built in the Maruti as well so that Maruti could extend its products lineup. It comes with no exact information about when the sedan makes its entry in the Indian market, but we can expect its launch after the Auto Expo 2020.
