All-new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Spotted In India – Video

The 2019 Jeep Wrangler is expected to launch in India in the third quarter of the current year. The Sahara and Unlimited variants have been spotted in the country on several occasions and in the latest development, even the Rubicon version has been seen on its ARAI test runs. The Rubicon variant was introduced with substantial modifications on the mechanical front in order to deliver a distinctly better off-road capacity.

2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon retains the signature boxy design style. Alongside maintaining the trademark look, the new version comes with LED headlights and tail lamps, new alloy wheels along with revised bumpers. As seen in the spy images, the Wrangler Rubicon badges are featured on its hood, while the wheels are shod with off-road spec tyres. In the international market, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon comes with a fully-loaded interior that features LED instrument cluster, a touchscreen for the infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, dual-zone temperature control and more.

Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 2019 gets a load of off-road assist features

Besides, just like on the top variants, the 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon also receives off-road assistance features, including Rock-Trac AWD system, Dana 44 axles, front and rear locking differentials together with a sway bar quick disconnect system. According to the revealed specs of the Rubicon, its approach angle measures 44 degrees, the break-over angle is pegged at 27.8 degrees while the departure angle is 37 degree. The ground clearance is 276 mm and the water-wading capability is up to 762 mm. 

The earlier Jeep Wrangler is currently on sale in India with two engine options-  2.8-litre oil burner (200PS/460Nm) and 3.6-litre V6 gasoline engine (283 PS/347 Nm). The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is likely to get a 3.0-litre diesel V6 engine and the same 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine. On the Wrangler Rubicon, these engines could produce 263 PS/600 Nm and 289 PS/352 Nm, respectively. They are likely to come paired with an 8-speed AT unit.

At the moment, the Jeep Wrangler is available in a price range from Rs 58.74 – Rs 67.60 lakh. With a distinguished off-road capacity, the 2019 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon will be slightly more expensive than the current version.
