BMW is gearing up for the introduction of the new-gen BMW 3-Series which is set for this August 22.

The seventh-generation BMW 3-Series is developed on the new, thoroughly modern CLAR platform which also underpins its 5-Series sibling. Thanks to the new platform, the new-gen 3-Series is sportier and bigger but 55 kg lighter than the previous-gen model. The new 3er now measures 4,709 mm long, 1,827 mm wide and 1,441 mm high, which is 76 mm longer, 16 mm wider, 1 mm higher in comparison with the outgoing version.

Though it sports quite a similar silhouette to its preceding version with its prominent signature big kidney grille, long hood and short boot, the new BMW 3-Series gets major tweaks in the exteriors and interiors department that reflect a fresher and more fashionable look. The sedan boasts new Adaptive LED supported by BMW Laserlight tech, a heavily-redesigned front bumper with revised fog lamps, newly-design, large 19-inch alloy wheels along with new L-shaped swooping LED tail lamps.

Just like the outside, the interior of the new 3-Series has been massively updated to satisfy tech-savvy buyers, while retaining the classiness and craftsmanship that the 3-Series is known to offer. The new-gen 3-Series features the new BMW Live Cockpit Professional, which consists of a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, AI-enabled system and voice recognition which is activated as soon as you say, “Hey BMW”.

The upcoming BMW 3-Series will come up with two engine options, namely a 258 PS/400Nm 2.0-litre petrol engine in the 330i variant and a 190 PS/ 400 Nm 2.0-litre diesel ill in the 320d. Both units will be available with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which will be responsible for sending all that glorious power to the rear wheels.

Expect the price range of the 2019 BMW 3-Series to start around the INR 40 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
