Moreover, the vehicle can also receive power from a tuned 2.0L Multijet turbo diesel motor which can produce 138bhp of max power and 200Nm of peak torque. Jeep is also expected to equip the new Renegade with a 1.6L Multi-Jet diesel motor with a power output of 118bhp/320Nm which also provides power for the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. The power is spread to the four wheels through three transmission options: a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed automatic and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. 

The top variant could also be equipped with Jeep’s Select Terrain system which helps the car travel comfortably on various terrains with four different driving modes: Snow, Auto, Sand and Mud. The torque can be adjusted to make the vehicle best suited to the outside conditions, thanks to this system.

In terms of mileage, the new Renegade is expected to be more fuel-efficient than its older sibling, the Jeep Compass. The new SUV could produce 18 - 20kmpl in the petrol version and 14 – 15kmpl in the diesel one.

5. 2019 Jeep Renegade Price in India

Brought to India via the CKD route, the Renegade SUV will be locally assembled at the Ranjangaon factory. This will help Jeep India aggressively price this new SUV. In India, the Renegade SUV is expected to be priced from Rs 10 lakh  for the base version to Rs 16 lakh for the top-spec version. Once launched, it can effectively compete against the Hyundai Creta, Mahindra TU700 and Renault Duster.
