Audi R8 Panther Edition Launched, Only 30 Units Available

Audi R8 was launched in 2006 by Audi AG. Throughout the years, the German car brand has launched various special versions of this sports car. Recently, Audi AG has introduced the newest variation of the R8 called R8 Panther Edition. Only 30 units of this model will be made and limited to the US market only.

The regular version of the R8 has already featured a very attractive design. However, with the Panther Edition, the aesthetic appeal has skyrocketed. This special edition adorns the special treatment of metallic flakes against the Mythos Black exterior paint. Additionally, the exterior of the R8 Panther Edition also receives a carbon trim for wing mirrors, air intakes, side intakes, engine compartment surrounds, and more.

Reflecting the black theme, the badges and logos receive the black treatment. To complete this mysterious design, Audi R8 Panther Edition gets 20-inch alloy wheels are finished in matte black with sporty red highlights. Just like other performance cars from Audi, the R8 Panther Edition also gets the signature twin exhaust pipes and diffusers.

Just like the exterior, the interior of the Audi R8 also features the black-red scheme. The sporty theme is depicted through the red leather bucket seat with heavy contour, an all-black interior, carbon fibre inserts or Alcantara trims across the cabin. There are also some contrasting red stitchings on the door pads, dashboard, steering wheel, and centre console. The red highlights can also be found on the floor mats, and the steering wheel and engine start button.

With regards to the features, the Audi R8 is equipped with Matrix LED headlamps, illuminated sill plates. On the inside, this model is loaded with high-end features like Audi Virtual Cockpit, a 13-speaker Bang Olufsen sound system, Audi Drive Select as standard.

Powering the R8 Panther Edition is the 5.2-litre V10 engine which generates 532hp of maximum power and 540Nm of peak torque. Even though Audi has dropped the all-wheel-drive system, the rear-wheel-drive system along with performance tires and responsive gearbox can still move the car forward at an incredible speed. This car can sprint from idle to 100 kmph in 4 seconds. The top speed that Audi R8 can reach is 323 kmph.

Since this model is offered in a limited number, it is no wonder that Audi will put a hefty price tag on this model. Audi R8 Panther Edition is priced at $183,300. However, given how attractive it is, there will be a line of car fanatics who are willing to pay big money to bring home this sports car.
