BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo Diesel 620d Goes On Sale At 63.90 Lakh

The new variant of the 6-Series, the GT Diesel 620d, is launched at the price of 63.90 lakh.

Previously, only the 630d variant is powered by the diesel engine. This variant is offered with either Luxury Line or M Sport design scheme. At launch, this variant was priced at 66.50 lakh. Later on, the price has gone up to 68.90 lakh. The launch of a new and cheaper diesel variant will fill the price gap on the lower end and keep appealing to customers with an attractive price. The sedan is locally assembled at BMW’s plant in Chennai.

The new 630d variant is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine. This motor delivers the maximum power of 190PS and 400Nm. The power is transferred to the rear wheels through an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. The BMW 6 Series 630d could sprint from 0 to 100 in 7.9 seconds. And the highest speed it could reach is 220kmh.

The current 630d Luxury Line and M Sport are powered by a 3-litre diesel engine that makes 265PS/260Nm. Another 2.0-litre petrol engine is also on offer on the GT 630i Luxury Line. This motor is good for 258PS/400Nm. Notably, it is priced at the same price as the entry-level diesel variant 630d at 63.90 lakh.

About the equipment front, the 6 Series Gran Turismo Diesel 630d comes with Luxury Line package. It means that the vehicle will get various premium touches like chrome inserts, sports leather-wrapped steering, aluminium door sill plates, fine wood applications.

For the features, the 6 Series Gran Turismo gets 10.25-inch BMW Navigation Professional touchscreen infotainment system along with 8.8-inch digital instrument display. Besides, it gets a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable rear seats with electrically powered sunblinds for rear side. It will also be available with the Entertainment Professional system with two 10.2-inch displays for the rear row. Other entertainment features such as HDMI smartphone support, MP3 player compatibility and gaming consoles are also available.

This variant will be available with four colour options, including Mineral White, Glacier Silver, Mediterranean Blue and Royal Burgundy Red. Apart from these, customers are offered a range of interior upholstery custom.

For the India market, besides the new variant for the 6 Series, BMW has recently launched the new Z4 and will roll off the new X5 next month.
