BMW 8-Series Convertible Unveiled In The International Market

Right after the BMW 8-Series Coupe revealed in June 2018, the German luxury carmaker has officially unveiled the 8-Series Convertible which is considered the deluxe “silver bullet” of BMW.

The BMW’s newest model, the 8-Series Convertible made its global debut some days ago. The much-awaited vehicle is perfectly an agile athlete in the appearance of a gentleman. 

How does it look?

On the outside, the convertible totally gets the concept of a luxury sport car with the same sexy curves as its supreme two-door model. However, the metal roof is swapped with a new soft-folding fabric with fully-electric running. BMW claims that the open/close process of the convertible takes only 15 seconds at the speed of up to 50 Kmph to complete.

The soft-folding fabric roof is claimed to open/close in 15 seconds

The exterior is stated to express a new style of freedom that comes to the most meticulously perfected details. It will be revived with 20” alloy wheels, the Adaptive LED headlamps and LED taillights as standard along with optional Laser lights. The BMW 8-Series Convertible also comes with either Black or Anthracite Silver finish on the top. It will captivate the opposite person with the fusion of opulent sportiness and the incredible timeless elegance.

It is also available with wireless charging, BMW display key, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, automatic soft-close function for the doors, glass applications for specific controls as optional features on the 8 Convertible.

The 2019 BMW Concept 8-Series Convertible will appear with two variants: the M850i xDrive that gets a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 523 hp and 750 Nm of torque while the 840d xDrive is powered by a 6-cylinder diesel motor churning out 320 PS/ 680 Nm units. Both two oil burners are mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission via AWD grip. The former variant is claimed to go from 0-100 Kmph in only 3.8 seconds while the latter is confirmed to perform in 5.2 seconds at the top speed of 250 Kmph.

The 2019 BMW 8 Series Convertible will see its launch in the international market in March 2019. It is anticipated to reach our shores in late 2019 as a CBU at the price of around Rs 2 Crore. In the global market, it will seriously rival the like of Mercedes-Benz S-class Cabriolet.
