BMW M5 Competition Launched In India At INR 1.55 Crore

The BMW M5 Competition has been launched in India as a replacement for the standard M5 with the power increase of 25 BHP and a price hike of INR 12 lakh.

The BMW M5 Competition, the performance version of the M5, which is the 5 Series’s sporty iteration, has just been launched in India. The vehicle was imported to India as a CBU unit with a starting price of INR 1.55 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). You can buy the new M5 Competition, which is a substitute for the standard M5 at BMW dealerships across the country.

In terms of the exterior design, the M5 Competition features numerous alterations from the standard model. These include glossy black accents on the kidney grille, the ORVMs, the side air vents, the rear spoiler and diffuser. M-specific twin exhaust pipes and M5 Competition badging are also included in the changes that the vehicle gets against the standard one. The M5 Competition also sports more aggressive front and rear bumpers, side skirts as well as a high-strength carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) with the last one being a unique feature of the Competition model.

The BMW M5 Competition has experienced a number of alterations against the M5.

As regards the interior, the vehicle is equipped with a wide range of M-specific features like the multi-function leather steering wheel, red start/stop button, BMW head-up display, wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 600W 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Other outstanding interior features include wireless charging, seatbelts, pedals and multi-function sport seats.

The new M5 Competition keeps under its hood a V8 twin-turbo gasoline burner which can generate 625 HP (which is 25 HP greater than the standard M5). The power is spread to the four wheels through an 8-speed AT unit, utilizing BMW’s M xDrive AWD system. The M5 Competition can accelerate from a standstill to 100 kmph in only 3.3 seconds (0.1 seconds faster than the standard M5). The M xDrive system offers various modes: 2WD, 4WD Sport and 4WD.

The M5 Competition has a 0 - 100 kmph acceleration time of 3.3 seconds, which is 0.1 faster than the standard M5.
