BS6 Honda WR-V Launched, More Than A Lakh Costlier Than Maruti Vitara Brezza

BS6 Honda WR-V has been launched in India with improved exterior design, better equipped interior along with BS6-compliant petrol and diesel motors.

The BS6 Honda WR-V has finally gone on sale with a host of styling updates, some additional faetures and updated petrol and diesel engines. As regards the exterior, the WR-V facelift comes with some minor changes, including new LED projector headlights with integrated DRLs, new solid wing chrome grille, new LED fog lights and new advanced LED rear lights. The new R16 dual-tone diamond cut alloy rims and the shark fin antenna round of the exterior enhancements for the updated pseudo-crossover.

The interior of the new Honda WR-V has also experienced some improvements in terms of the equipment. Now, the cabin of the WR-V has become a tad fresher with new mesh design seat covers and additional chrome accents to look more premium. Other interior features of the new WR-V include one-touch electric sunroof, automatic air conditioner, a DIGIPAD 2.0 advanced infotainment system which supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity and multiple other functions, a multi-information combimeter, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with hand-free voice and audio cruise control switches, Honda smart Key System with Keyless remote, etc.

The new Honda WR-V also provides the occupants with numerous storage spaces, including one below the front armrest which is large enough to accommodate a full-size tablet. Even the boot is quite large. There is also a 12-volt power outlet and a USB port which enable the occupants to connect their smartphone or tablet. The SUV can ensure a safe journey for both of the driver and passengers with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high speed alert and front seatbelt reminder. All of these are provided as standard across all the variants.

The new WR-V receives its power from BSVI-compliant petrol and diesel motors. While the former is a 1.2-litre i-VTEC unit which can produce 90 PS against 110 Nm and is mated to a 5-speed MT, the latter is a 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit which can generate 100 PS against 200 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed MT.

As can be seen, prices of the BS6 Honda WR-V start at Rs 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it more than a lakh costlier than the base trim of the Maruti Vitara Brezza (starting price - Rs 7.34 lak). The new WR-V is offered with six colour options: Platinum White Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic and Premium Amber Metallic.
