Maruti is offering a discount of Rs. 60,000 on the BS-6 version of the petrol Swift.

The discounts that Maruti is offering on the Swift are nowhere in conjunction with the upcoming BS-6 emission norms. The Swift is already on sale with a BS-6 compliant K12B power plant. This power plant is a 4-cylinder naturally aspirated unit and displaces 1200 cubic centimetres to generate a peak power output of 83 PS at 6000 rpm and max. torque of 113 Nm at 4200 rpm. The engine can be had mated to either a 5-speed stick shift or a 5-speed AMT, which Maruti likes to call as AGS. However, Maruti has now axed the diesel engine option, as the manufacturer announced that it will not produce or sell any diesel car once BS-6 compliance comes into effect.

The Swift is a hot-seller in its segment. Offered in a total of 7 variants – 4 manual and 3 automatic, it competes with the likes of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Ford Figo. Maruti has loaded the Swift to the gills in terms of features. It gets the safety net of 2 airbags, ABS with EBD, front seat belt warning, speed warning alerts, and reverse parking sensors as standard across the range. Also, the base variant of the car comes with a few convenience features as well, like the power steering, manual controls for AC, and front 2-power windows.
