Excitingly, the BSVI-compliant Nissan Kicks will be offered with a new 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that comes paired to a 6-speed MT and a CVT automatic gearbox. This engine will be tuned to produce 156 PS and 254 Nm of peak torque. Besides this, the outgoing 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine will be upgraded to the stringent emission norms.

In its BS4 avatar, the mill is capable of generating 106 PS of max power and 142 Nm of peak torque. With the introduction of the turbo-petrol engine option, the 2020 Nissan Kicks will be the most powerful petrol automatic SUV in its segment. It is comparably more powerful than the equivalent versions of Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta (140 PS/ 242 Nm) or the MG Hector 1.5-litre turbo-petrol model (143 PS/250 Nm). There will be no diesel burner on the Nissan Kicks in the BS6 era.
