Renault India has silently revealed the prices of the BS6-compliant version of Renault Duster for the Indian market. The 2020 Renault Duster BS6 is on sale at the introductory price of Rs 8.49 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) which is about Rs 50,000 costlier than the outgoing BS4 version.

The 2020 Renault Duster BSVI comes in three different variants, namely RXE, RXS and RXZ. While the base model gets the price of Rs 8.49 Lakh, the top-of-the-line model is priced at Rs 9.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Renault decided not to upgrade the Duster diesel to comply with the new norms. Though the prices of the outgoing BS4 car are still spotted on the company’s website, reports told that the BS4-spec Renault Duster was no longer in availability.

2020 Renault Duster BS6 employs a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that is good for 105 BHP of max power and 142 Nm of peak torque. It comes coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Sadly, the company currently does not offer the petrol CVT automatic variant for the new Duster. The all-wheel-drive system has been removed as well, making the Duster a manual-only front-wheel-drive model.

For those looking for a more powerful and automatic variant of the SUV, however, the all-new Renault Duster turbo-petrol is on the cards to come to us later this year. The Duster turbo-petrol is powered by a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol mill tuned to produce a healthy power of 153 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. Transmission option for the upcoming Duster will be a 6-speed MT and an automatic CVT as an option.

There are no major visual changes made to the new BS6-compliant Duster, given the fact that the SUV just received a facelift last year. It remains to see how the petrol-only Duster could fare against the highly-contested competition, considering that the outgoing SUV’s biggest USP was the diesel variant.
