BS6 Tata Hexa 4X4 To Launch Later This Year

Tata Motors has plans to launch the new Hexa Safari Edition in the Indian market by the end of this year. The SUV was also showcased at the Auto Expo 2020.

Tata Motors India Ltd showcased a lot of new cars at the Auto Expo 2020. There were some really exciting models like the Sierra concept, and the carmaker also displayed a new version of the Hexa SUV, named as Tata Hexa ‘Safari Edition’. Other than showing models like the new Sierra, HBX and Gravitas, the carmaker also surprised us with this SUV. The automaker has already discontinued the Safari  in the Indian market, so this new Hexa Safari edition will be an accessorised version of the SUV.

Talking about the Tata Hexa, the SUV has been already discontinued the market because the carmaker was unable to update the car as per the new BS6 emission norms. The new Tata Hexa 4X4 Safari Edition was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 is scheduled to launch by the end of this year. The upcoming SUV will be powered by a BS6-compliant engine. Except for the addition of a BS6-compliant motor, the updated model will also employ subtle cosmetical and features updates to make the crossover look a bit different from the regular discontinued Hexa. One of the biggest highlight is the employment of a distinctive paint job, which the carmaker says that it took inspiration from the “earthy tones of the outdoor”.

Moreover, outside the SUV will also feature a different set of roof rails with ‘Safari Edition’ badging and contrasting paint on the body cladding. No major changes have been made on the inside. The new Hexa will likely to get updated upholstery along with Safari Edition badging. Earlier, the BS4 Tata Hexa was powered by a 2.2-litre oil-burner that produces 156PS of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. The SUV was offered in two different trim levels- 4X2 and 4X4. Transmission duties were done by a 6-speed MT or either a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
