Maruti announced its shift to produce only BSVI compliant cars in late 2019. However, some Maruti dealers are left with stocks of BSIV compliant models, which they cannot sell after March 31, 2020. In a bid to clear the inventory of these cars, the dealers around the country are offering heavy discounts to the car buyers. That said, most car dealers have already sold off the old inventory, while the few leftover units are offered at a discounted price. So much so, a Gurgaon-based dealer is offering a total discount of Rs. 75,000 on the Maruti Swift diesel.

Over INR 75,000 Discount On BS-4 Maruti Swift

To clear-out the inventory of BS-4 cars, dealers are offering heavy discounts on diesel Swift.

That said, there aren’t many dealers left with large stocks of BSIV cars, but it seems likes this one surely has a few units lying around the yard. The discount of Rs. 75,000 offered here is not completely a cash benefit offer, instead, it comprises of Rs. 40,000 cash discount, Rs. 20,000 exchange bonus, Rs. 5,000 corporate discount, and a 5-year warranty on the car. But, if you are planning to get a diesel propelled Swift home, do understand, this is a dealer-level discount, and we believe the discounts offered on diesel Swift would vary dealer to dealer.

However, if you ever had a plan of buying a Swift with the 1.3-L diesel engine, this is is only time you can buy one, as Maruti would not be manufacturing BSVI-compliant diesel version of the its popular small car. The carmaker launched the BSVI-compliant petrol version of the car in the June 2019 itself, which will be the only engine offered with Swift once the stricter emission norms kick in.

Talking of the diesel engine, it displaces 1300 cubic centimetres to produce 75 PS of peak power and 190Nm of max. torque. It can be had mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT.  The Fiat-sourced diesel engine is a reliable and frugal unit and for the same reason was loved by the Indian audience.
