Lately, Maruti has launched the BSVI-compliant Celerio at the starting price of Rs 4.41 lakh. The top-spec Maruti Celerio is now priced at Rs 5.67 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to the pre-updated version, the BSVI Celerio is costlier by around Rs 15,000 to Rs 24,000.

Under the hood, BSVI Maruti Celerio retains the same 1-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine which is updated to meet the new emission standards. Despite these updates, the power output remains the same. This engine is capable of releasing a top power of 68PS/90Nm. When running on CNG, the power output rates at Rs 59 PS and 78 Nm. THe standard transmission option is a 5-speed manual transmission while the petrol variant can be had with an optional automated gearbox. Apart from the updated engine, the rest of this hatchback including the design and equipment remains unchanged. Given that the Celerio just received updates on the safety front, the BSVI Maruti Celerio continues to offer safety features like ABS with EBD, speed alert system, rear parking sensor, and driver airbags.

Along with the Maruti Celerio, Maruti also works on other vehicles across its range. In the upcoming weeks, Maruti will launch the facelift Maruti Ignis which gets a refreshed design along with BSVI updates. Maruti Celerio is now rivalling against the likes of Hyundai Santro, Maruti Wagon R and Datsun GO in the space of budget hatchbacks. To get the latest car news, visit IndianAuto.com.
