Maruti Suzuki is the first carmaker in India who started upgrading most of its vehicles as per the BSVI emission standards much before the deadline. Right now, the carmaker offers a dozen cars in India, that are alraedy BSVI compliant. In fact, the Indian carmaker has already retailed around 5 lakh BSVI vehicles in the country and has started introducing S-CNG variants of some of its models. The strict emission norms will come into action by 1st April 2020 and before that, the carmaker has to discontinue its 1.3-litre DDiS diesel mill, which Maruti had sourced from Fiat. With the Maruti Vitara Brezza finally getting a petrol engine, the Maruti S-Cross is now the only car in the company's stable which gets propelled by this oil burner.
