Tata Motors had launched the Altroz earlier this year, marking the company’s foray into the premium hatchback segment. Due to the sales slump in the Indian car market, however, the sales have been quite moderate. The nationwide lockdown further elevated the situation. To attract more customers towards the Altroz, Tata has announced a new offer for its new hatchback, one that is extremely lucrative!

Tata Motors has come up with a new finance offer for the Altroz with EMI starting as low as Rs. 5,555 for the first six months. The maximum principal amount for the loan would be Rs. 5.5 lakh, and the EMI value will subsequently keep increasing over a maximum tenure of five years. Buyers can book the car online if they wish to, or visit their nearest showroom and buy the car the traditional way. The price of Tata Altroz ranges from Rs. 5.29 lakh for the base petrol variant to Rs. 9.29 lakh for the top-of-the-line diesel model.

The Tata Altroz is available with two engine options. The first one is a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, inline-3 petrol engine. This motor is capable of generating a maximum power of 86 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. The second option is a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated, inline-4 diesel mill, which can generate 90 PS and 200 Nm. Currently, the car is only available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The car rivals the like of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Honda Jazz in the Indian auto market.

According to a few previous reports, Tata Motors was working on a turbo-petrol variant of the Altroz. This version will use the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, the same one which also powers the Tata Nexon. There could be a possibility that the engine might be detuned for use in the Altroz. That, however, might not be a great strategy. Tata Motors is currently the underdog in the Indian car market, and it desperately needs a winning strategy. Limiting the power of it most powerful hatchback would be the furthest from such a strategy. Reports also suggest that Tata Motors might also be developing a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic for use here.
