Mahindra XUV300 has made headlines earlier this year with its brilliant performance in Global NCAP safety tests. In fact, the XUV300 now wears the crown of the safest car made by an Indian manufacturer, with a 5-star safety rating for adult occupants and 4-star safety rating for children. Apart from safety, the Mahindra also impresses with its brilliant looks and road presence. There is, however, the scope for further improvements in the SUV’s look, as evident below.

The video above, posted by YouTube channel ‘Santik Automotive’, begins with a stock Mahindra XUV300 in bright red colour. The first, and also the easiest customisation here, was the addition of bigger, fatter, knobbly tyres, along with new alloy wheels. To accommodate the larger tyres, the wheel arches are enlarged and broadened, with black plastic cladding that adds a muscle to the car. Next, the front fascia gets a redesign. The front bumper and grille are borrowed from the 2020 Audi Q3 and moulded to fit on the XUV300’s face, with bold ‘Mahindra’ badging across the grille. The headlamps are then blacked-out and the DRLs brightened. Needless to say, this adds a premium touch to the SUV.

After that, the upper front grille is changed, now with horizontal sills instead or vertical/outwards-slanted ones. Next, a roof-mounting is added, with a trio of LED auxiliary lights attached to it. The roof-rails are then blacked-out as well, followed by the roof itself. Then, a snorkel is added, for heavy-duty off-road purposes. In the end, final touches are given to the car, in the form of body-coloured garnishing on the ORVMs and blacked-out door handles. The artist then renders the final image offscreen, giving it a much more polished look than before. Overall, the SUV looks brute in the rendering, ready to take on the wilderness.

As for the stock Mahindra XUV300, it is available with two engine options- a 1.2-litre inline-4 turbo-petrol unit, and a 1.5-litre inline-4 turbo-diesel unit. The petrol motor is capable of generating 110 PS and 300 Nm of maximum power and peak torque, respectively. The diesel mill is good for 115 PS and 300 Nm. There is also a more powerful 1.2-litre ‘mStallion’ turbo-petrol in the pipeline, which will produce 130 PS and 230 Nm, thus making it XUV300 most powerful SUV in its segment. The timeline of that, sadly, is unsure. Due to the novel coronavirus outbreak, Mahindra has temporarily shut the production down in its plants.
