After months of media hype, the Maruti Baleno-based Toyota Glanza has been launched in India at a price starting from Rs 7.22 Lakh (Ex-showroom, India). The first re-badged engineered vehicle from Toyota- Suzuki Joint Venture will rival the likes of its donor model, Maruti Baleno as well as the Hyundai Elite i20 in India. Recently, Toyota has released the official TVC for the new Glanza speaking volume for the vehicle’s beauty and prowess.

At launch, the all-new Toyota Glanza is available in two grades only, namely G and V in which there are four different variants on offer. The top-spec option gets the price of Rs 8.9 Lakh (ex-showroom, India). Dealer dispatches have commenced already and the deliveries shall begin soon too.

Apart from the new front grille housing a Toyota’s badge, the all-new Glanza looks identical to the Maruti Baleno premium hatchback. In a bid to make its own model more attractive, the Japanese auto major has offered the best-in-segment three-year/ 1,00,000 km warranty for the Glanza as standard. Besides, there’s also a range of additional warranty packages for customers to choose from when the standard one has expired. In comparison, the Maruti Suzuki’s offering is available with a two-year/ 40,000 km warranty as standard.

The Toyota Glanza has been on sale in India with the introductory prices of Rs 7.22 Lakh- Rs 8.9 Lakh.

The Toyota Glanza employs two engine options under the bonnet. There is a mild-hybrid version comes in handy with the car too. The premium hatch from Toyota gets the power from a 1.2-litre VVT naturally aspirated K12B engine making a max power of 83 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. This engine comes coupled with an MT and a CVT automatic transmission for which, it returns a fuel mileage of 21.01 kmpl (for the MT version) and 19.56 kmpl (for the CVT variant). Additionally, the Toyota Glanza also comes equipped with a 1.2-litre DualJet K12C engine that outputs 90 PS of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. This mill is available with a mild-hybrid system that claims a maximum fuel mileage of 21.01 kmpl.

Toyota Glanza is similar to the Maruti Baleno which the new model is based on but it comes up with more attractive warranty options.

In terms of features, the base G trim of the new Glanza packs multiple convenient premium features inside out such as 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice commands and navigation, height-adjustable driver’s seat, auto climate control, keyless entry, engine start-stop push-button, steering-mounted audio controls, ABS with EBD, dual airbags, rear parking sensors and more. The higher V grade of the car is equipped with more features like LED treatment on tail lamps, leather steering, automatic follow-me-home headlamps, UV-cut glass along with a reverse camera.
