Check Out These Tastefully Modified Maruti Swift Twins - Video

Maruti Swift is one of the best-selling vehicles of all time in India. Since its first introduction to the Indian market in 2005, the car has always held the fancy of middle-class Indian buyer. Of course, it has also attracted the car customizers as there are plenty of aftermarket customisation options available for the car. Here, we have not one, but two beautifully modified Maruti Swift hatchbacks that have been subtly customized to look bolder and drive in a sportier fashion.

The video above, posted by Youtube channel ‘Nitro Street’, shows a pair of attractive modified Swift ‘Twins’, built by Profangelz Motor Club. There hasn’t been any major change to the exterior of any of these cars except for the wheels. The red Swift sports golden-coloured ten-spoke alloys on all fours, while the white one gets a ring-spoke design for its alloys. Both the cars sport low-profile rubber with red-painted callipers for the front disc brakes. The rear brakes are still drums, like on the stock car.

The taillamps have been customised as well, and are now fully-LED units, with pretty-looking boomerang-shaped brake lights. Both the cars feature lowered suspension, which gives them a sporty stance. The simplicity of the design and the lack of alien-looking body kits make these mod jobs quite a beauty to look at.

As there has been no mention of any performance upgrades, we expect the engine and transmissions to be stock. A regular Maruti Suzuki Swift is available with a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, inline-4, ‘K-series’ petrol engine. This motor can generate a maximum power of 83 PS and a peak torque of 115 Nm. There are two transmission options available- a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

There used to be a Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre, turbocharged, inline-4, ‘DDiS’ diesel engine on offer as well, but it was discontinued ahead of the BSVI deadline. This mill was capable of producing 75 PS and 190 Nm.  As sales of diesel-powered vehicles kept steadily declining, Maruti Suzuki has decided to focus on petrol, CNG, and hybrid/electric cars instead. Anyway, coming back to these two vehicles, it's really interesting to note how each of these customized examples enjoy a distinct identity in spite of featuring a similar set of modifications. We guess the body paint and the design of the mag wheels plays a big role here.
