Citroen C5 Aircross Launched in India at Rs. 29.90 Lakh, Delivers 18.6 kmpl

Citroen C5 Aircross finally goes on sale in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs. 29.90 lakh. It will rival the likes of Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass. Read the detailed report here.

The French automaker Citroen has finally launched its first-ever product in the Indian market named C5 Aircross. The introductory prices of the all-new Citroen SUV start at Rs.29.90  lakh for the entry-level Feel trim and go all the way up to Rs 31.90 lakh for the top-spec Shine variant. The prices are introductory and will be hiked at a later stage. In the Indian market, it rivals the likes of Hyundai Tucson, VW T-Roc, and Jeep Compass. The all-new Citroen SUV is locally made with 90 per cent of the materials sourced from India. The carmaker is locally assembling the crossover SUV at their CK Birla production facility situated in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. In the Indian market, the SUV is offered in two different trim levels namely- Feel and Shine. It comes loaded with a lot of advanced features.

The cabin of the SUV features a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument console, powered side mirrors, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with the latest smartphone connectivity features, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, hands-free parking, dual-zone climate control and much more. Moreover, the Citroen SUV gets automatic headlights and wipers, a tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control, and keyless entry & go as standard. The top-end Shine trim employs a panoramic sunroof, hands-free taillight and LED headlamps which are missing in the Feel variant. In terms of safety, the Citroen C5 Aircross gets six airbags, a blind spot monitor, Electronic Stability Control, hill descent, traction control and hill descent control.

Furthermore, it employs standard safety features like reverse parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking camera and ABS with EBD. The second row of Citroen C5 Aircross gets three individual seats, which can slide and recline independently. Moreover, the seats can also be folded individually to create space for passenger or luggage. Mechanically, it derives power from a 2.0-litre 4-pot turbocharged diesel unit, which develops 177 Bhp of peak power and 400 Nm of max torque. The engine comes paired with an 8-speed AT as a standard affair. The all-new Citroen SUV is claimed to offer an ARAI certified mileage of 18.6 kmpl.
