The Citroen C3 Sporty is expected to be launched in India in the latter half of 2021 to become the first locally-developed Groupe PSA offering in the country. The sub-4-metre SUV has been spied testing with heavy camouflage in Pune, Maharashtra.

Recently, a heavily camouflaged Citroen C3 Sporty was seen undergoing road tests on Indian roads. From the looks of it, the spied test mule is still an early development prototype. Nevertheless, the test mule reveals important details about the compact SUV. Codenamed C21, the upcoming C3 Sporty is going to come with a unique design which takes the inspiration source from big and modern Citroen SUVs and multiple motor options.

The new C3 Sporty will also feature rounded base and wide C pillars. The compact SUV will be underpinned by a simplified version of the Common Modular Platform, which also serves as the base for the Peugeot 208. The chassis will be customized to reduce the cost. The interior has not been revealed by the spy images; however, in order to efficiently compete in the fiercely competitive Indian compact SUV segment, the C3 Sporty is expected to be equipped with a wide array of top-notch features.
