“Driving and alcohol do not gel well” - The saying has been in existence since long and for the right reasons. One should not be consuming alcohol while on the steering wheel as it can be dangerous to you and for other road users as well. However, here’s an interesting case, where the owner of a Mahindra Scorpio has been booked for smuggling liquor using an essential service pass. The incident took place in the country’s capital while the car was entering New Delhi from the state of Haryana. Since the sale of liquor is banned at present, its smuggling through misuse of essential service pass is a sheer infringement of the law.
