Datsun is planning to add a new CTV option to Datsun GO and GO+’s line-up.  The CVT variants are expected to arrive next month, in October 2019. Before going on sales, Datsun GO and GO+ CVT are expected to make their debuts later this month. Recently, both of the hatchback and MPV were given a couple of new safety features and updates on the infotainment system.

Datsun GO and GO+ CTV will go on sale next month

To denote the appearance of the new special gearbox option, the Datsun GO and GO+ CVT will get a new CVT badge. Apart from this new detail, the two CVT models will see no cosmetic updates. With regards to the mechanical parts, Datsun GO and GO+, aside from the new gearbox option, will receive no other changes. Both of them will carry the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine. This engine can deliver a maximum power of 68 PS and a maximum torque of 104 Nm. Before the addition of the new CVT, this engine is solely paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This same powertrain allows the Datsun GO and GO+ to get a fuel mileage of 19.83 kmpl. Considering the increasing demand for automatic gearbox in the India market, the launch of the GO and GO+ CVT is expected to stimulate customers’ interest and boost the sales up. The CVT gearbox is not a popular offering in the hatchback and MPV market. Most of the models in the respective segments are provided with AMT option which costs less. CTV option, however, comes with a higher fuel efficiency and smoother shifting.
