Check out this dealer-level customisation package for Toyota Fortuner, which can transform your car into a Lexus lookalike.

Car customisation is popular in India, especially with SUVs. We have seen plenty of different examples of modified XUV500, Scorpio, Bolero, Safari, Sumo, Seltos, Creta, and Fortuner. Here, we have another example of the last one, a brilliantly modified Toyota Fortuner. What’s more, this custom package comes straight from the dealership!

Modified Fortuner 2018 by Thirty Six Toyota (IMB) | it's me Bishnoi

The video above has been uploaded on YouTube channel ‘it’s me BISHNOI’. It is shot in a Thirty Six Toyota, dealership based in Faridabad, Haryana. The video shows a Toyota Fortuner with dealer-supplied custom accessories. There are plenty of changes to the car, which we shall cover briefly here. The front bumper has been replaced by a TRD unit, which look absolutely amazing. There is plenty of chrome garnishing around the foglamp housing, and on and around the grille. Even the headlights are over-lined by a chrome strip. The Toyota Logo has been removed from the car’s nose.

The side profile has plenty of details. The door handles are chrome plated, and there is a two-piece side-cladding (black and silver) running along the length of the car. There are window sills on offer, customised in the ‘shape of Fortuner’ with custom branding on it. The dealership has also added auto-folding ORVMs. At the rear, you get a diffuser under the bumper, and a boot-guard on top of it. The tailgate has a chrome-strip as well. Additional brake lights are added to the D-pillar, and there is a sweet-looking roof-mounted spoiler.

No change has been made to the car’s powertrain. A stock Toyota Fortuner is available with a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a 2.8-litre diesel engine. The former can churn out 165 PS and 245 Nm, while the latter is good for 176 PS and 420 Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic. The diesel version can also be purchased with a 4-wheel-drive system.

All the changes made to the Fortuner SUV make it look a little like a Lexus LX, but with a character of its own. Just for comparison though, a new Toyota Fortuner would set you back by Rs. 28.18 lakh to Rs. 33.95 lakh, whereas a Lexus LX costs a whopping Rs. 2.32 crore!
