Automatic cars are getting quite popular among the new buyers in India. Because of the increasing traffic on our streets, people now prefer investing money on automatic cars by which they can commute from point A to Point B without any hassle of shifting gears. Earlier, only big cars were offered with automatic transmission, but now after looking at the rising demand, the automakers have started offering their entry-level models with automatic gearbox options. Now talking about the compact sedan space, the Honda Amaze is one of the top-selling sub-compact sedans in its segment. It rivals the likes of Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Aura. It is popular among buyers because of its spacious interiors and value for money quotient it offers. Moreover, Honda Amaze is the only sedan in its segment, which is offered with a CVT and steering-mounted paddle shifters.

According to a recent report from Honda, the carmaker says that the share of the automatic variant of the last-gen model contributed only 9 per cent of the total sales. The current-gen model, however, contributes over 20 per cent, which clearly shows that the demand for automatic trim of Amaze has increased compared to that of the previous-gen model. Mechanically, Honda Amaze derives power from 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The former puts out 89bhp of peak power and 110 Nm of peak torque, while the latter churns out power and torque outputs of 99bhp and 200 Nm, respectively. Both the engines come paired to a 5-speed MT or a CVT.
