The next-generation Pajero Sport will be launched in India in 2019. The new vehicle is expected to be highly priced.

Actually, Mitsubishi started introducing the new-generation Pajero Sport to the global market in 2015. The facelifted version will soon be introduced to Indian auto market with the Triton pick-up truck platform and has been modified with new features to adapt to the off-road and ruggedness features of Indian roads. Four-wheel drive layout will be provided as standard whereas an off-road mode will also be offered in a package.

A not less important thing of the new Pajero Sport is that it held a rating of five stars in the Australian NCAP crash tests. Though only the results of the forthcoming tests in India will determine the success of this SUV; with this rating, at least, customers do not need to be worried about its safety.

The new SUV is powered by a 2.4-litre MIVEC diesel engine, which can churn out 181hp and 430Nm of torque and uses an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is expected that the vehicle will comply with BS VI once launched in India.
