Earlier, the company had announced that the Mahindra XUV300 would be offered in both petrol and diesel motor options with the top-in-the-segment torque outputs. More recently, the power and torque outputs of the upcoming SUV have been revealed by the carmaker. The 1.2L turbocharged petrol motor will deliver 130 PS of maximum power and 200 Nm of peak torque, which is the same torque as the diesel motor of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The transmission duties will be undertaken by a 6-speed MT gearbox and a 6-speed AMT unit. On the other hand, the 1.5L diesel motor borrowed from the Marrazzo is good for 123 PS against 300 Nm which is even 40 Nm higher than that of the 1.6L diesel motor of the Hyundai Creta. Once launched, this diesel engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. However, considering the high demand for automatic cars nowadays, the domestic automaker will soon probably develop an optional AMT unit. None of the Mahindra XUV300 variants will come with a 4wd system.
