Recently, an Indian Youtuber has driven the new VW T-Roc on German roads and his test drive video gives us a good look at the new vehicle

The VW T-Roc premium compact SUV was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and was launched in India last month. The German automaker has also launched the vehicle in only one variant, which is priced at INR 19.9 lakh (ex-showroom). 300 bookings for the compact SUV have been received so far. The new model can be viewed as an alternative to the Hyundai Tucson and the Jeep Compass. A Youtube video has given us what can be touted as the first-ever test drive review of a VW T-Roc by an Indian Youtuber.

Volkswagen T-Roc drive impression

At the beginning of the video, the exterior of the compact SUV is shown. The exterior of the car bears a strong resemblance to the India-spec model apart from some distinctions like conventional headlight system instead of the LED headlight in the Indian model and the lane assist system’s sensor which is absent in the Indian version.

As this is the international-spec version, the driving wheel is on the opposite side. The India-spec version is equipped with a wide range of top-notch interior features which include an 8.0-inch infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, two-zone temperature control, leather seats and a panoramic sunroof. The compact SUV also offers 6 airbags, ABS and EBD, ESP, hill holder, ESP, etc as the standard safety equipment.

VW T-Roc offers a quite solid drive. The driver was astounded by the impressive power delivered by the car which can reach 200 kmph, after which it had enough power in the reverse to be operated at a higher speed. The car also offers wide visibility and a good ride quality. Receiving its power from the same 1.5-liter turbo gasoline burner, the India-bound model is said to reach a maximum speed of 205 kmph.

The India-spec Volkswagen T-Roc looks almost the same as the international version, but some differences still exist.

The insulation inside the cabin is also sufficiently good enough. The braking ability of the car is also good as well. Thanks to the electronic aids, the T-Roc can maintain a straight line even when the driver applies the brakes at high speed. Generally, the driver is impressed by the design and performance of the new VW compact SUV. Let’ see how this will perform in such a highly competitive compact SUV segment like that in India.
