Toyota has recently launched the new Fortuner facelift (Model Year 2021) in Thailand. The updated SUV has already been spotted inside dealerships.

Toyota Fortuner is the most popular mid-size SUV in India, known for its strong off-road dynamics and brilliant comfort. Toyota had previously announced that they will be updating the Fortuner to keep it fresh in the market. While the date for Indian launch is still unclear, the new SUV is already available in Thailand. Here, we have a few pictures of the car at a dealership, with clear visuals of the interior and exterior.

The new MY2021 Toyota Fortuner is available in two versions. The first is the regular version, known simply as the Fortuner. This is the version that has been spotted at dealerships and showcased in the pictures here. The other version is the Fortuner Legender, which is the premium model in this line-up. There are plenty of aesthetic as well as a few mechanical differences between these two models. Here, we will focus mainly on the ‘regular’ Fortuner.

2021 Toyota Fortuner rear three quarter

The changes to the exterior design include plenty of changes. At the front, we see a new set of LED projector headlamps, LED DRLS and turn indicators, a redesigned front bumper with silver-finish skid plate, larger radiator grille flanked by chrome strips on both sides, and a compact air dam. The side profile remains the same as before, but the SUV now gets a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear end features new, sleeker taillights. Inside the cabin, the biggest highlight is the new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. We also get a wireless smartphone charger, ambient lighting system, and hands-free smart boot door cluster.

2021 Toyota Fortuner interior

The Toyota Fortuner facelift features two engine options. The first one is the 2.4-litre, inline-4, turbo-diesel. This motor is capable of producing a maximum power of 150 PS and 400 Nm of maximum torque. The second engine is a 2.8-litre, turbocharged, inline-4 diesel mill, available exclusively in the ‘Legender’ variant. The peak power and torque output for this powerplant is 204 PS and  500 Nm, respectively. As standard, the SUV comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and a rear-wheel-drive system. A Four-wheel-drive system is available as an option on select trims.
