The upcoming weeks will be a very exciting time for India’s vintage car lover as the first vintage car auction will be held on November 21st.

Other countries with rich automobile industry history are familiar with the classic car auction. But for India – a new emerging auto industry, we haven’t seen any event of this type. On November 21st, we will have a classic car auction for the first time.

The vintage car auction will be held by Mumbai-based Astaguru auction house. During 10 AM to 8:30 PM Nov 20, there will be 10 models go on offer. The auction will be held online through Astaguru’s website.

The cars on this auction are from various sections. It could be the iconic Indian car like the 1960 Hindustan Ambassador Mark 1 or the 1963 Fiat 1100 Super Select. Besides, some memorable cars across the world could also be found in this auction, for example, the 1936 Chrysler Airstream or a 1947 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith. 1969 Volkswagen Beetle and a Mercedes-Benz 170S – the most well-known classic cars of all time– are also on offer. Other names on the list include a 1957 Studebaker Commander, a 51 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe, 1937 Morris 8 Sedan, and a 1956 Dodge Kingsway.

Among these names, the 1937 Morris 8 Sedan must be the most fascinating car on offer. What makes this car so special? This model was a huge success for Morris and helped the automaker to regain its number one position in the market back then. However, the car model itself is not a particular subject of interest but the fact that the car was once owned by Maqbool Fida Husain – the globally-famous Indian painter.

“This was an inevitable progression move, considering the fact that our research deduced an eager demand for Vintage and Classic cars in India."

The price of these cars will be nothing but exorbitant. Most of the cars are of the same price that is offered all around the world, however, there are some models whose price goes a bit too far from the average level.
