Tata Motors decides to take its five-seat Harrier as the Buzzard Sport to debut in Geneva 2019

Earlier this year, Tata launched its brand new Tata H5X concept-based Harrier in India at the price ranging from Rs 12.69 Lakh to Rs 16.25 Lakh (Ex-showroom, India) in four variants- XE, XM, XT and XZ. The flagship SUV deploys the latest Land Rover-sourced OMEGA ARC platform which facilitates the boxy length, width, height and wheelbase of 4,598 mm, 1,894 mm, 1,704 mm and 2,741 mm, respectively along with 205 mm of ground clearance.

At the Geneva Motor Show, the Buzzard Sport shows up with the massively similar dimensions and cosmetic beauty as the India-spec Harrier apart from the new set of dual-tone alloy wheels and black finished roof. Up front, the Euro-spec Tata Buzzard Sport is seen will split headlamps cluster with LED daytime running lights, projector lamps, large grille as well as split fog lamps. The distinctive wheel arches particularly add more premium to the model’s quotient. The floating roof design is accentuated in black while the rear quarter is dominated by C-Pillar, a muscular bumper and sleek tail lights.

The all-new Buzzard Sport SUV comes to redefine its name by additional comforts and innovative features when compared to the Harrier counterpart. Its notable interior features encompass electrical, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power windows, an 8.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with high-resolution display, 9-speaker JBL sound system with a fully-digital 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, temperature control, traction control, cruise control and more. To enter the Euro market, Tata Motors has meticulously revised the safety package of the Buzzard Sport from the Harrier with rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold and descent assist, corner stability control, rollover mitigations and so on.

Powering the new five-seat Buzzard Sport is a 2.0-litre Kryotec 4-cylinder turbo-diesel motor delivering a whopping 138 bhp power and 350 Nm torque. Mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, the engine is tuned for three modes- Eco, City and Sport giving the intense flexibility and stability on the drive. In India, the Harrier gets an ex-showroom price starting from Rs 12.69 Lakh so we could expect some slight increments in the price of the Tata Buzzard Sport in Euro market due to these added fitments.
