The American carmaker Ford has discontinued the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol mill and the 6-speed automatic gearbox from Figo, Freestyle and Aspire. The company has also discontinued offering select colour shade options in its entire lineup.
The American carmaker Ford has discontinued the 1.5-litre, TiVCT petrol mill and the 6-speed automatic gearbox from Figo, Freestyle, and Aspire. The company has also discontinued offering select colour shade options in all the cars. Ford has informed dealers regarding these changes. In the Figo, Freestyle, and Aspire, the 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol motor is the most powerful engine in their respective segments and price points. The 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine develops 123 PS of max power at 6,500 rpm and 150 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. The 6-speed automatic gearbox is offered only with this motor. The car manufacturer has confirmed that they will re-launch the automatic gearbox in all the three cars shortly. The 1.5-litre, Ti-VCT petrol engine variant along with 6-speed automatic transmission in Figo, Freestyle, and Aspire is only offered with the Titanium variant, not the top-of-the-line Titanium Blu.

This engine and gearbox configuration are already taken down from the company’s official website. Ford now offers the smaller 1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol unit that produces 96 PS of power and 120 Nm of torque. Both the cars also feature a 1.5-litre TDCI diesel unit which shreds out power and torque outputs of 100 PS and 215 Nm. Transmission duties are performed by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Moreover, the company has also discontinued offering 'Absolute Black' colour shade with Figo, Aspireand Freestyle. Talking about the pricing of the cars, the Figo AT is priced at Rs 7.70 lakh and Aspire AT carries a price tag of Rs 9.10 lakh. In other news, Ford is also planning to launch a 2.0-litre diesel mill with Endeavour along with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Once launched, it’ll compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Mahindra Alturas G4 and Isuzu MU-X.
