Ford EcoSport Gets Costlier Again, Third Price Hike This Year

Ford has announced the third price hike for the Ford EcoSport in 2020. This time, the Ford EcoSport receives a slight price hike of Rs 1,500 across the range. After the price updates, the Ford EcoSport is now available at a starting price of Rs 8.19 lakh* and Rs 8.69 lakh* for the petrol and diesel versions, respectively.

From the beginning of 2020, Ford has increased the price of the EcoSport three times. In January, the Ford EcoSport was given BSVI updates which came along with a price hike of Rs 13,000. Apart from the engine updates, the new Ford EcoSport did not receive any major change in terms of design or features. At launch, the BSVI-compliant Ford EcoSport was priced from Rs 8.04 lakh* to Rs 8.54 lakh*.

In July, Ford announced the second price hike in 2020 for the Ford EcoSport. This time, Ford EcoSport’s price was increased by up to Rs 13,500. Compared to the last two price updates, the recent price increment is minor. Here is the latest price list of Ford EcoSport 2020.

Ford EcoSport is available with two engines, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel unit. While the former is capable of churning out a maximum power of 122 PS and a top torque of 149 Nm, the latter is good for 100 PS and 215 Nm. Both of these engines are available with a 5-speed manual transmission. An additional 6-speed automatic option is also available on the petrol Titanium and Titanium Plus variants.

The Ford EcoSport was the pioneer of the sub-compact SUV segment. It was the first vehicle of this segment to gain significant following. Over the years, with more vehicles entering the market, the demand for EcoSport has dropped considerably. That said, it still enjoys a decent fan following.
